Cupping helps heal the USA men’s Olympic gymnastics team

Alex Naddour has tried massages, a hot tub for recovery and gotten cortisone shots before a competition. The relief they offer from the wear-and-tear his body has taken from gymnastics is often only temporary.

That’s been the secret that I have had through this year that keeps me healthy,” Naddour said. “It’s been better than any money I’ve spent on anything else.

The Many Benefits of Chinese Cupping

The British Cupping Society says cupping therapy can treat a variety of conditions. This has not been backed up by studies. But the organization says cupping therapy is used to treat:

A word on Cupping marks by International Cupping Therapy Association (ICTA)

The most common misunderstanding regarding one of the most powerful and beneficial after effects of Cupping, is the marks that sometimes result.

When injuries occur deep in the muscle, bleeding often occurs causing deep bruises. There will also be edema in the area involving the coagulation of sticky proteins. The combining presence of these elements usually results in stagnation of circulation to the area – resulting in pain, dysfunction, and chronic conditions.

The vacuum formed by Cupping draws up the old non-circulating stagnant blood and sticky fluids from the area, bringing them up to the surface and away from the injury so that healthy free circulation can be restored to the affected area, thus creating space for oxygen, living cells and nutrients for faster recovery.

Where there is dead, static blood, lymph, cellular debris, pathogenic factors, and toxins present in the body, Cupping can leave marks which indicates that the stagnation or disease has been moved from the deeper tissue layers to the surface.

In many countries – this is a non-issue, they’ve experienced themselves the amazing detoxifying effects suction therapy can provide. But in some industrialized countries, where Allopathic Medicine still over-shadows more holistic, natural approaches, these surface discolorations are misinterpreted as damage rather the result of debilitating agents being drawn to the surface. Westerners also live in an image conscience society that also has a heightened sensitivity to domestic abuse… so, without sufficient understanding, some people are unnerved upon seeing this important after effect.

Once people understand what these marks are, and feel the results – the concerns disappear.

Testimonials

So many Yelp reviews begin with “I didn’t want to write this so I could keep it a secret.” I’m more of the opposite — I want to write this because I’d be beside myself if my favorite anything went away. Lin is my favorite massage therapist by far.

My constant shoulder and back pain was getting out of control, so I bit the bullet and scheduled an appointment with Lin. It was fairly short notice, but she was able to get me in quickly. After that first appointment, I felt so much more limber. I’ve been seeing her every two weeks for a while now and it’s been great for me overall.

At one point I had muscle spasms that had me in bed for a week. I saw her the day before I had to go back to work and went from hobbling around with a stick to walking almost full-speed. Seriously, she’s that good.

My favorite thing is that she will tailor each massage to your specific needs. If she suggests cupping, DO IT. Sure, you may look like the victim of an octopus attack afterward but it makes a huge difference. She can also use the cups in a non-octopus way, too. Both ways feel great.

I cannot speak highly enough of my experience. I am currently under an extreme amount of stress and decided I needed to find some assistance. This was the most amazing massage I have ever had. I could honestly feel my body reacting to the treatment. I will be a client for life. Thank you!!
